Be Prepared at Home

Be Prepared at Home

September is National Preparedness Month, and if you are on the internet, I'm sure you've heard because Ready.gov has done a great job spreading the word and has tons of great resources to put us all in the *be prepared* frame of mind.

The Sweethome has put together the definitive guide on how you can put together your own emergency kit. This article wasn't just slapped together pulling content from other articles at the top of a google search list, these guys GET INTO IT and if you aren't following them on Facebook yet, you should be.

Read the article, and then get prepared. Your family is worth it.

The Sweethome did 120 hours of research and tested nearly 100 different products to come up with 30 products that will be indispensable in case of natural disaster.

The Sweethome says... The easiest way to feel prepared for an emergency is to go to your local big-box store and pick up a ready-made emergency kit. Unfortunately, after studying the contents of a dozen such kits online and getting four to rip apart in person, we can say with certainty that none of them are worth your money. Certainly, having a premade bag is a lot better than having nothing. But for the money, it won't be half as good as a kit that you assemble yourself with careful consideration of your own family's needs in mind.

Do yourself and your family a favor and take 10 minutes to read the best article on the internet right now about what products you need to buy to make sure you are prepared in case of an emergency. Read it here >> The Best Emergency Preparedness Supplies by The Sweethome.
